"

The operational working group (of the government) has decided to extend the restrictions currently in place until February 1,

" Orban said in an interview with the national press.

These measures were taken within the framework of a state of emergency declared since November 11.

They include a nighttime curfew, a ban on gatherings, the compulsory wearing of a mask in public and the closure of high schools and universities.

"

As long as there is not enough vaccines, we will stick to the restrictions already adopted,

" added the head of government.

The sovereignist Prime Minister, on the other hand, felt that primary schools and kindergartens could remain open.

Hungary reported 115 new deaths from the coronavirus on Friday, bringing the country's total death toll to 10,440.
