53 pro-democracy activists were arrested on Wednesday (6th) on suspicion of violating Article 22 of the "Minato National Security Act" "crime of subverting state power", together with Huang Zhifeng and Tan Dezhi, who were arrested and in custody the following day (7th), A total of 55 persons were arrested.

Of the 55 arrested, including 6 former Democratic legislators, all were granted bail except for Hu Zhiwei who will continue to be remanded in custody.

Relevant persons and Democratic Party Chairman Law Kin-hee will hold a press conference this afternoon to respond to the arrest.
