In Strasbourg, the procession started around 2 pm behind a banner on which was written "

Intensification of barricade gestures

", noted an AFP journalist.

This demonstration, the first editions of which at the end of November and in December had brought together several thousand people, was organized at the call of a collective of associations, political parties and unions demanding the "

total withdrawal of the Global Security Law

", but few flags were visible in the procession.

The demonstrators, some of whom claimed to be part of the “

yellow vests

” movement, marched for about two hours, bypassing the hyper-center of the city, access to which had been prohibited by the prefecture.

Firecrackers, fireworks and smoke were fired during the demonstration, which remained calm despite some attempts by some demonstrators to pass the security checkpoints blocking access to the city center, then to the 'police station.

In Lille, a demonstration also brought together some 120 people on Saturday afternoon, according to the prefecture.

They protested against the proposed law "

Global security

" but also against inequalities, a party claiming to be "

yellow vests

".

In Paris, no demonstration against the bill was organized this Saturday.

On the other hand, an appeal was launched for January 16 "

everywhere in France before a large gathering on Saturday January 30 in Paris

".
