US President-elect Joe Biden confirmed that the President of the United States "is not above the law", in a hint to outgoing President Donald Trump and accusing him of involvement in inciting violence and storming the Congress building carried out by his supporters last Wednesday.
And American media quoted Biden as saying in a tweet he posted on his Twitter page that our president is not above law and justice to serve the people and not to protect the powerful.
This comes at a time when Democrats in the US House of Representatives intend to launch impeachment measures against Trump early next week, against the background of his accusation of being involved in inciting violence and storming the Capitol building last Wednesday, killing five people, including a policeman who later died of his wounds and the arrest of dozens of others.
Earlier today, Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski called on Trump to resign after the violence that took place in the Congress headquarters days ago, to be the first representative of her party to call publicly for that.
