It is one of the photos that were circulated en masse during the storming of the Capitol.

A Trump supporter carried away the lectern of the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in the picture completely carefree and smiling.

Now the looter has been identified and arrested as Adam Christian Johnson from the US state Florida.

In addition to the arrest of the 36-year-old, at least 13 people were prosecuted in the U.S. District Court in connection with the riot, and at least another 40 people were indicted in the Columbia District Supreme Court.

Intruder arrested and charged in Pelosi's office

The man who proudly had himself photographed in the chair of the chairman of the House of Representatives, Democrat Pelosi, during the storming of the Capitol, was also arrested according to judicial data.

Richard Barnett is accused of intruding into a specially secured building, trespassing, vandalism and theft, as a senior Justice Department representative announced.

"The shocking pictures of Mr Barnett in his boots on the desk of the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Wednesday were repulsive," US Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen said in a statement on Friday.

"Those who are known to have committed criminal acts during the Capitol Storm will be brought to justice."

He also announced that the FBI would be working with Washington Police to investigate the death of Police Officer Brian Sicknick.

The policeman was killed in the storm on the Capitol.

The FBI's assistant chief in Washington, Steven D'Antuono, said the investigation would continue "around the clock" with hundreds of staff.

Just because they left Washington could they still expect a knock on the door if they were found to be part of the criminal activity at the Capitol, he said.

FBI is looking for bombers

The FBI has also advertised a reward to get information on those responsible for two pipe bombs.

The US authorities said there was a $ 50,000 reward for information that led to the location of the perpetrators, their arrest and their conviction.

The authorities received reports on Wednesday (local time) of two suspicious devices, one at the Republican Party headquarters and one at the Democratic headquarters.

As the broadcaster ABC News reported, experts made the pipe bombs harmless.
