The deployment of checkpoints to enforce the closure regulations will change starting tomorrow morning - this was decided today (Saturday) in assessing the current situation of the acting police commissioner, Superintendent Kobi Shabtai, together with the head of the traffic department, superintendent Alon Arieh and the chief of operations, Amnon Alkalay.

As part of the discussion they conducted, it was decided to act in a phased format of placing the checkpoints during the day.

According to the decision, 25 checkpoints will be set up from 09:00 and at 15:30 will be removed until approximately 18:00, after which they will be deployed again until nightfall.

The police said that "in light of past experience and with the aim of reducing traffic congestion and reducing disruption to the routine of life as much as possible, especially in the morning and evening.

In addition to the deployment of checkpoints, mobility and motorcycles of the Traffic Division, tours and scans on the arteries will continue at all times, regardless of the deployment of the checkpoints.

Police stressed that "the public must comply with regulations and avoid the need for enforcement, so that we can maintain public health and curb the spread of the virus."

Yesterday, roadblocks were deployed and many reports were distributed for violating regulations.

Following the increased enforcement, many traffic loads have been recorded across the country.

In cities and localities, local authority inspectors participate in enforcement efforts to restrict trade.

In total, 3,319 reports were filed in the last day for various violations of the closure regulations and the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

The police said that most of them were given for leaving a place of residence for a purpose or action that is not allowed.

The strict restrictions, which include closing the entire education system and reducing economic activity, will last two weeks and are estimated to be extended beyond that.

Unlike in recent weeks, all educational frameworks, from kindergartens and nurseries to high schools, will be closed.

This, regardless of the colors of the cities according to the traffic light plan.

Special education was excluded from the shutdown.

Also, during the closure period, there will be an exit limit of up to one kilometer from the place of residence.

Even within the mileage limit, it will not be possible to stay at another person's home.

This, with the exception of a few exceptions that have been defined, including going out for immunization, medical or social care, demonstration, legal proceedings, going out for sports activities (not by way of getting to a place in a vehicle), transferring a minor between separated parents, going to work or to an educational setting. For the purpose of attending a funeral, wedding or alliance (subject to the crowd limit).
