The East Rail Line's train service between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East Station is suspended today. The MTR will arrange free shuttle buses to and from Kowloon Tong Station and Hung Hom. Passengers on the West Rail Line will leave Hung Hom Station for free, and then transfer to East Rail by shuttle bus will also be free.

Conversely, passengers who take a feeder bus on the East Rail Line and transfer to the West Rail Line will have to pay the East Rail Line fare; West Rail passengers who enter the station purely from Hung Hom Station will charge as usual.

The weather in Hong Kong today is cold and very dry.

In order to cope with the new rail connection project for the cross-harbour section of the East Rail Line, starting from the first train on January 10 (Sunday), the East Rail Line's train service between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East Station will be suspended until the end of the day.

The MTR will arrange shuttle buses to and from Kowloon Tong Station and Hung Hom. It is estimated to run every 4 to 5 minutes during peak hours, and the point-to-point journey will take about 20 to 30 minutes.

The Satshu shuttle bus will depart from Hung Hom Station near Entrance C2 at 5:30 in the morning, and the last bus will leave at Kowloon Tong Station near Entrance D at 1:14 in the morning.

Note that the shuttle bus will not stop at Mong Kok East Station.

The MTR will make special ticketing arrangements. Passengers who use the shuttle bus will not be charged additional fares. Passengers who use one-way tickets and metropolitan tickets will be processed with additional gates.

On Sundays, the first train service from Hung Hom to Mong Kok East Station on the first train line will be suspended until the end of the service on the same day (data picture)

In addition, passengers on the West Rail Line will not be charged at Hung Hom Station tomorrow. In order to facilitate the smooth exit of passengers and prevent passengers from being deducted by mistake, passengers on West Rail Line entering the station from Hung Hom Station will charge as usual.

From February to October, there will be 9 more designated Sundays with the same arrangement.
