Corona outbreaks also occur again and again in nursing homes in the district.

While some houses are vaccinated, others are still waiting for the first doses.

One problem is the staff's lack of willingness to vaccinate: in some places, more than half of the syringes refuse.

District

- Otto Ohmer is 100 years old - and is now vaccinated against the corona virus.

“The doctor came into the room, cut the tip in, and it was done.

The day after I felt something on the vaccinated arm, but not bad.

The next day nothing at all, ”reports the resident of the Caritas nursing home in Kraillingen, Maria Eich.

110 out of 160 residents and 50 out of 170 employees have the first prick behind them.

The second required by default will follow soon.

Retirement homes are at the top of the priority list, and corona outbreaks such as those in Söckinger Rummelsberger Stift or in BRK Castle Garatshausen justify this. While most residents have no problem with the vaccination, the willingness of the staff is too low in many places.

Maria Eich home manager Diana Sturzenhecker had the injection given.

She is happy that her house was about to turn up.

“Some employees are still waiting,” she says.

At least 30 residents will soon be vaccinated.

None of the people who had been vaccinated so far had any real side effects;

In the Caritas home, seven residents and four employees have tested positive since the end of November, and one senior citizen is currently in the hospital due to Corona.

Marcus Wicke estimates that nurses at BRK-Schloss Garatshausen and the Rotkreuzhaus Gilching are only willing to vaccinate at 40 to 50 percent.

"We would like more," says the BRK district association's head of care.

The vaccine is new, the long-term consequences are unknown: these are the arguments against vaccination that he hears most often from staff.

He and other BRK officials try to persuade the employees.

"We are trying to provide information and experience reports from those who have been vaccinated." It is important to dispel the concerns because the Biontech vaccine has not had any permanent side effects so far.

Wicke refers to longer studies in the past year.

Many nurses want part-time work

In contrast to other homes, the Rotkreuzhaus in Gilching is vaccinated.

According to Wicke, 30 cans are still missing in Garatshausen - especially for employees.

There had been a corona outbreak in a home area around the turn of the year.

According to Wicke, everyone in the facility has been tested on a daily basis whenever possible.

50:50 is the ratio of personnel willing and unwilling to vaccinate, according to Benjamin Bernhardt, Managing Director of Alternative Elderly Care in Breitbrunn.

The 32 residents are already vaccinated, except for one.

"It was already infected," explains Bernhardt.

However, before he moved into the house.

There is still no positive case to complain about.

If the 32 employees had also been vaccinated, he would be better off too.

But you can't force it.

“That is why we unfortunately have to continue like this -“ with masks and antibody tests twice a week ”.

Bernhardt heard more and more requests from his staff to reduce working hours.

“We already have a lot of part-time employees.” He shows understanding, because the pressure is currently enormous.

For everyone, "because the whole situation is bitter for the old people too".

In many homes, the vaccinations are still pending

"We are very willing to vaccinate," says Ulf Walliczek, managing director of the Pilsensee senior citizens' home in Seefeld.

He could not confirm that many of his 45 or so employees had reservations about the vaccination.

"But we also rely on comprehensive information and recommend it to everyone." It is also certain that the management would be completely vaccinated, "we want to set a good example".

Walliczek's biggest problem is that he has not yet confirmed when it will finally start in Seefeld.

"I very much hope that we will not be forgotten."

The vaccination appointment for the 44 residents and the staff in the senior citizens' park of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt in Dießen is still pending, but the willingness of the staff is "very good".

More should not be said by the management on site.

Sabine Stiller, Nursing Manager at the Neighborhood Assistance in Inning, is pleased that the willingness to vaccinate among her 17 outpatient employees is very high.

Only two or three would think about it.

Everyone else is ready to be vaccinated immediately.

“It's a super good cut.

But we're still waiting for an appointment. ”The Inning neighborhood help looks after 62 clients a week.

Thomas Bonato, director of the Pichlmayr senior center in Gilching, very much hopes that the vaccinations will start soon in his house.

Opinions differed among the 55-strong staff.

“It's very mixed, but everyone has to know that for themselves.” By and large, he rates the willingness to vaccinate higher than in the general population.

There are currently 73 seniors living in the facility.

“They are very relaxed about it, far more than half of them will be vaccinated,” Bonato suspects.

He himself is not afraid of the syringe.

"I want to lead by example."

The Kraillinger Waldsanatorium is the only nursing home in Würmtal that is still waiting for the vaccination to start.

According to Wolfgang Dausch, spokesman for the operator, the Order of the Sisters of Mercy, 60 percent of the residents and less than half of the employees want to be vaccinated there.
