Wolfratshausen is supporting the revitalization of the inner city with a project fund.

In future, more private individuals will be able to have a say in the allocation of funding.

Wolfratshausen

- It is the heartfelt wish of many Wolfratshausen residents: the city center should be filled with more life again.

For several years now, a project fund has been providing support for citizens, associations and initiatives in projects.

In its most recent meeting, the City Council's main committee decided that more private individuals should have a say in the future allocation of funding.

City manager Dr.

Stefan Werner welcomes the changes - and hopes that the fund will be able to give even more projects start-up support in the future.

15,000 euros are available every year.

In 2020, around 8,700 euros of this had been accessed by the beginning of December, more than ever before.

In previous years, the payments were EUR 3,350 (2019) and around EUR 8,000 (2018).

Various initiatives have benefited from funding: Last year, money went to the installation of Kippster buckets for cigarette butts and to the art tower project of the Isar-Loisach cultural association in Schwankl-Eck.

The White Dinner of the Werbekreis 2018 was supported, an information board pointing out the Walk of Fame, and the river film festival of the Flößerstraße association.

What do these projects have in common?

"They make the city more attractive," says city manager Werner.

In principle, a broad spectrum of ideas could be considered for funding "as long as they serve urban development".

Either the mayor or, if more than 6,000 euros would be required, the main committee decides which specific projects can rely on grants.

In future, recommendations will be made by a coordination group chaired by Werner.

Part of the committee are stakeholders from the catering, retail trade as well as building owners, entrepreneurs, senior representatives and a member of the Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen association.

In addition, the cultural and economic consultants belong to the group.

The main committee agreed on this.

"Before we mainly had political decision-makers in this group," explains Werner.

With the decision to reassemble this group, “the private individuals are no longer in the minority”.

Werner wants to make it so "that the interlinking of private interests and public funds is improved" and, as a result, more projects can be supported with funds from the inner city fund.

So far, this funding pot is not very well known "and it would be nice if even more citizens contact us with ideas or initiatives that can help urban development".
