The third blockade in the number that Israel entered a few days ago gave rise to a series of new and original excuses for the average Israeli as to why he is with his vehicle on the road instead of at home, according to a police report.
Among the excuses the police heard were: "I had an argument with my wife and went out to freshen up", "I am on my way to proposing marriage" and even - "I am cheating on my wife, do not give me a report that you will not know I am in the area".
Other excuses encountered by law enforcement were: "I got confused in the city I need to get to" and "My father passed away and I was on my way to his funeral" - something that was later revealed as a complete lie.
Police say they have encountered a number of excuses in recent days at checkpoints set up to enforce the closure, which were found to be incorrect: "Even when the excuse is amusing, when it turns out that the person violates the rules, he returns home with a fine of 500 NIS,"
Police said that over the weekend, with the entry of the closure, 12,400 reports were filed for violations of corona regulations across the country.
Most of the reports were recorded for leaving a place of residence for an illegal purpose or action.
The police also stated that they do not take the matter lightly and that the police at the checkpoints are already experienced with a variety of excuses in both the first and second closures.
According to them, one of the most "popular" excuses is a claim to travel to help grandparents, or one of them.
More than once it turns out that they are no longer alive.
In the previous closure, the stunned driver drove the cops a driver who claimed he was driving food to his grandmother.
It then turned out that the pots he had placed in the car were completely empty.
