Former Corona commissioner and Ichilov Hospital director Roni Gamzo spoke this morning (Sunday) with Walla!

NEWS and rejected allegations that he distributed corona vaccines to non-at-risk populations for political motives, referring to Health Minister Yuli Edelstein's remarks about him following the case.

Gamzo said that "on Sunday I saw that we had leftovers, I issued a message to 60-plus-year-olds, we told them to come tomorrow without a queue. Thanks to this in the Tel Aviv area the rate for 60-year-olds is 80%. I did, but it didn't help. "

"According to the decision of the priority committee, in the second priority there are teachers, together with the police, so I acted in order," he added.

"I had a task to finish the trays and so I did. Huldai did not talk to me about it and was not involved in it - all my decision."

Regarding the possibility that he will run in the upcoming elections, he claimed that "I am not going into politics at the moment, I am in Ichilov."

Asked what information he was asked to pass on to the Ministry of Health following the deal with Pfizer, he replied that "they have not asked for anything yet, but I think it was the right decision. They will be given anonymous data on the ages of the vaccinators, side effects and quantities."

In response to the health minister's remarks about him, he said that "I was hurt that Edelstein called me a criminal, but I appreciate and love him and there are no feelings of insult among friends."

Ichilov Hospital will begin vaccinating this morning in a second dose all vaccinators who received the first dose, despite the threat from Health Minister Edelstein not to send further allocations to the hospital following the confrontation between Ichilov and the Ministry of Health that erupted last week.

The hospital will also house the nursing homes in the city and IDF disabled people.
