The Iraqi Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, and the Syrian ambassador to Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, discussed ways to improve cooperation in the fields of transport and railways between Syria and Iraq.
According to a statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Transport, a copy of which was received by the SANA correspondent in Baghdad, “Al-Shibli and Al-Dandah discussed in the Ministry’s center today the issue of the rail link between Syria and Iraq and cooperation in the field of transport between the two countries.
In turn, Ambassador Al-Dandah clarified in a statement to the correspondent that the meeting yielded positive results for the benefit of the two countries, as the rail link between Iraq and the cities of Lattakia and Tartous was discussed, the adoption of a transit system in the commercial transport movement, in addition to the return of Iraqi flights to Damascus and the facilitation of the movement of Syrian trucks through the Iraqi ports, indicating that It was agreed to exchange visits in order to complete the most important issues raised in the field of transport.
