A week after the mysterious leak, Tel Aviv residents who were evacuated from their homes have not yet received the findings of the incident during which water vapor rose above the ground.

Since they were allowed to return to the residential buildings, the residents who live on Ibn Gvirol and Miriam Hasmonean streets in the city, have been talking about disruptions in the water supply and lamenting the lack of transparency on the part of the authorities.

"At the moment, the entrance to the building block is ruined and dangerous for walking," described Itamar Levy, a resident of Ibn Gvirol Street.

According to him, the entrance and exit to the area are blocked by guards on behalf of the municipality.

"The entire area between the buildings is fenced off here, and from time to time some workers come who bother to make mostly noise, arrive without a foreman in the field, make a mess and leave."

Levy noted that during the week the water supply in some of the apartments was cut off, without prior notice or coordination.

"One of the tenants came out of the balcony and shouted at them, 'Did you cut off the water and you did not inform?', So he replied, 'Madam, we hung up half an hour ago, now do you remember?'" He said.

"The municipality's conduct on the issue feels quite disgraceful. There is no sense of urgent attempt to resolve the absurd situation we have encountered."

Another day, residents said, a man who introduced himself as an electrician on behalf of the IEC arrived at the building complex.

He cut off the electricity in the apartments and claimed to have conducted a health check - without prior coordination.

According to them, the technician hung a warning letter on some of the doors stating that there was a problem with the grounding of the apartment and if the tenants did not solve the problem within four days - they would be disconnected from electricity.

The letter did not contain identifying details of the company's representative, and the application to the house committee of one of the buildings stated that the electricity company could not pass on the name of the electrician and that there was an open call for the entire building.

The residents also complained that already on Sunday they submitted an official request to the municipality to receive all the inspection reports made on the spot, a summary of the incident on the ground, an orderly schedule and an expectation of completion of the work.

However, no answer on the matter on behalf of the municipality was received.

Tel Aviv Municipality: "Community Administration staff in continuous contact with the residents"

The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality stated in response that "Contrary to what is claimed, teams from the Community and Welfare Administration assist and have been in continuous contact with the residents since the beginning of the event and also update the building committees on all developments. The Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality "Variety, the Avivim Water Company, the Electric Company, the Israel Police, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, firefighting, and other security forces."

"At this stage the ground temperature is still monitored and once the temperature is optimal it will be possible to continue to investigate the incident while restoring the status quo ante," the municipality added.

"Therefore, in order to maintain caution and in order to ensure the safety of the residents, the municipality was forced to demarcate and close the area where the land is open."

"It is important to note that the checkpoints have been set up to prevent intriguers from reaching the place and thus maintain the privacy of the residents of the buildings," the municipality added.

"Naturally, the soil tests are still ongoing and will last several weeks under an effort to even advance the findings of the investigation and treatment of the issue. When permission is given from the authorities to return to routine, the municipality will act soon to return residents and the situation to a routine that does not endanger their health."

The IEC said that "the company apologizes to customers for the service experience. The company will investigate the allegations and draw lessons. During inspections it was discovered that there is a safety grounding problem in both buildings. In such a case, where there is a safety hazard to tenants, the IEC is obliged to warn." By a private electrician. "

"Along with the allegations, it is important for us to emphasize that everything was done in coordination with the Tel Aviv Municipality and the tenants' representatives," the company added.

"At the same time, a representative from the company was sent to the building's occupants, in order to explain the inspection process."

Water Spring response: "The entire event was managed by the municipality and the water supply returned to the series on Saturday."
