Isen -

When it comes to helping, organizing and taking responsibility, Marianne Brucker is at the forefront.

The 65-year-old is known to many in Isen and the surrounding area - especially the pupils and parents of the Isen elementary and middle school.

For almost 40 years she worked here as a remedial teacher for the children.

But above all, Marianne Brucker is valued because of her great voluntary commitment to the Catholic Church.

For this commitment, the committed Isener woman was awarded the Korbinians Medal by Cardinal Reinhard Marx at the Korbinians Festival in Freising Cathedral.

Only four people from the archdiocese receive this high recognition, which was donated by Cardinal Friedrich Wetter in 1988 and has been awarded annually since then.

It was proposed by Pastor Josef Kriechbaumer from Isen, and a jury voted on it.

Brucker was delighted with the medal and the certificate from the cardinal's hands.

But it is important for her to emphasize that the honor is representative of all volunteers.

“I don't see it as my medal now.

I didn't just deserve it alone, but everyone who made a difference with me, ”said Brucker at the photo session with the local newspaper.

"Easy 300 people" can be considered in Isen with this award.

You stand up out of conviction and not "so that someone will recognize it".

The list of her voluntary activities is long.

First and foremost is your commitment to the parish library.

She has been with us for 40 years, and has successfully managed the library for the past 22 years.

It is also thanks to their commitment that the library has received several awards, most recently this year with the seal of approval “Libraries - School Partners”, which is awarded by the State Ministry for Education and Culture and the State Ministry for Science and Art.

In addition, the library is allowed to bear the silver library seal of the Sankt Michaelbund.

Brucker emphasizes that it cannot be done without a lot of helping hands.

Especially now, when the returned books and DVDs have to be cleaned by hand due to the special hygiene measures, the volunteers are very committed to the cause.

The educator is particularly interested in the next generation.

She was a communion mother, prepared the children's services for six years, organized the children's Bible days over a period of eight years, and has been a communion helper for 24 years.

She herself suffered severe strokes of fate.

One of her two daughters died shortly after giving birth and her son died in an accident at work almost ten years ago.

And yet she is a life-affirming woman who flashes the mischief in the eyes when she tells anecdotes from her life with dry humor.

In the parish, Brucker is a valuable support and, as Pastor Kriechbaumer emphasizes, “works with regularity, consistency and very great passion”.

For nine years she participated in the preparation and implementation of the couples blessing services, for twelve years she was a member of the parish council, of which she chaired five of them.

Today she is still an editor, among other things.

And she has been taking care of the organization of the events of the Catholic Education Center for 27 years and sings in the church choir.

But her real passion is her library, which has now had to close due to the corona.

Shortly beforehand, we had asked Brucker about book titles that the reading enthusiasts in the family would certainly be happy to receive as gifts.
