The Government said today (11th) that it had found 3 hectares of government land in Qixing Kang, Pat Heung, Yuen Long, which is expected to provide about 900 transitional housing units.

The project will be operated by the Hong Kong Lutheran Society, introducing the concept of an environmentally friendly village. One hectare of land will be used for farming and is expected to be completed in 2022.

Architectural concept design competition is expected to be completed in 2022

The land for transitional housing at Qixinggang, Yuen Long was originally a high-speed rail construction site, separated by a river from the MTR Shek Kong Depot.

The land covers an area of ​​3 hectares and belongs to government land, which is now zoned for agricultural and open storage purposes.

The transitional housing project is expected to construct multiple buildings of no more than four stories, providing a total of about 900 units, and is expected to be completed in 2022.

The project will be operated by the Hong Kong Lutheran Society and will introduce the concept of an environmentally friendly village, of which 1 hectare of land will be used for farming.

The Hong Kong Green Building Professional Council held a press conference today, stating that it will hold a green village architectural concept design competition, and professionals will provide development plans.

The competition will start this Saturday (16th) and end on March 12th. It is expected that there will be results in the middle of this year.

Lutheran: Farming can cultivate residents' interest

Chen Liming, project director of the Transitional Housing Task Force of the Transport and Housing Bureau, pointed out that the land of the project has no urgent use in the short term.
