US President-elect Joe Biden confirmed that outgoing President Donald Trump should not stay in office, after Senate Democrats published a draft resolution calling for Trump to be removed before the end of his presidency for inciting him to storm the Congress building last week.
Biden called during a press conference held in Newark, Delaware, after receiving the second dose of the Coronavirus vaccine, according to the US Today newspaper, for those involved in inciting the violent attack on the US Congress, in reference to Trump.
Biden added that he had previously discussed with leaders of the Senate the approval of the main cabinet nominations for his new administration and the follow-up with a parliamentary trial to impeach Trump, noting that the House is preparing the impeachment provisions for the unprecedented second time for Trump's role in inciting the storming of the Congress building.
Trump is facing increasing calls for his removal from office under the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution or through a parliamentary trial in Congress after he incited his supporters to violence and stormed the Capitol.
