Sad news from the hospital: Three other district citizens died of Covid-19 over the weekend.

This increases the number of deaths to 48.

Erding / Wartenberg - A total of 54 new infections with the corona virus have been known since Friday, reports district office spokeswoman Claudia Fiebrandt-Kirmeyer.

The Robert Koch Institute gives the seven-day incidence as 129.5.

Since 142 are now considered recovered, 553 are currently known to be infected.

The Wartenberg Clinic shows how important serial tests are in combating the corona pandemic.

About 300 employees and 70 patients were scraped on Saturday.

The virus was found in 15 employees and three patients, reports clinic spokeswoman Irene Hilf.

Thus, according to the spokeswoman, the numbers are well below the approximately ten percent of positive results "which we assumed in advance based on empirical values".

Even if, of course, every new infection is one too many, "we see it as good news that there were so few new cases among the patients," comments the clinic's pandemic officer, chief physician Dr.

Klaus-Friedrich Becher, the result.

Two patients were transferred to the isolation ward in-house and one to another hospital.

The infected staff went into quarantine, according to Hilfe, the contact persons are being determined.

As a rule, at least one further series test is carried out in order to also record possible new cases that were still negative in the first test.

This should take place this Friday.

According to Fiebrandt-Kirmeyer, 22 Covid-19 patients are currently being cared for in the clinic, and 18 in the Wartenberg clinic. Five are in the intensive care unit, none of which currently require artificial ventilation.

835 swabs have been taken in Erding since Friday, increasing the number of tests since March to 34,516. There were over 10,000 in December alone.

There is also good news: nobody is quarantined in the asylum shelters.

According to the health department, there have also been no major outbreaks in companies recently.

Further relaxation is emerging in the homes.

"In some, the health department was able to declare the outbreak to be over," said Fiebrandt-Kirmeyer.

A total of 49 residents and 42 employees are currently Sars-Cov-2-positive.

A week ago it was 66 and 42 respectively.

At the BRK vaccination center 114 people received initial protection over the weekend, a total of 1151. The next 540 doses are expected on Tuesday and will be used during the week.

However, this is still not enough, the authorities say.
