2021-01-11T20:25:46.681Z

Since the end of November 2020, Zinédine, 7, can no longer go to school, for lack of AESH to support her. A situation denounced by the assoc

A hand in her mother's, Zinédine, 7, clings to the green grid.

Which remains relentlessly closed.

Facing them, the director of the Joliot-Curie school in Fleury-Mérogis (Essonne) explains that she cannot bring them into the establishment during the day, for security reasons.

This Monday afternoon, the movement initiated by the Espoir Handicap Solidarity association will not have the expected effect: the meeting with the district inspector of National Education will not take place.

"How can you leave a child out of school like this?

We can not remain without a solution ”, despairs Manel Mezziane, the mother of the boy, diagnosed with autism at the age of two and a half years.

Since the end of November, the child can no longer join his CE1 class.

According to the family, after two serious incidents, where Zinédine broke a window and hit her AESH (accompanying students with disabilities), the latter reported not being able to take care of it.

Adapted structures already saturated

“He's not a violent kid, but he doesn't like to be upset.

In kindergarten, he was with a great AESH, who knew how to do it with him.

Everything went well, ”explains Nadia Boussouf, her grandmother.

“We are concerned about the well-being of this professional, but not that of Zinédine, deplores her mother.

In the meantime, he is with me at home.

He does not speak but I can see that he is bored, that he wants to go to school.

And the health crisis is not helping.

The only thing that can soothe him is water.

I used to go to the pool three times a week, now I just take her outside for a walk.

Alerted by the situation, the Espoir Handicap Solidarity association decided to lead this fight alongside them.

“It is not the only child in this case, summarizes Johanna Gouddi, the president.

His place is not in a public school.

But how can we do otherwise when there are three years of waiting to join a medico-educational institute, and the Ulis

(localized unit for inclusive education)

classes

in the department are already full?

Without AESH, he cannot be accommodated at school.

The only solution that the school has proposed is to call on a specialized association to come and assist it.

1000 euros for 8 hours of support per month

An estimate was made to Défi autisme.

For 8 hours of attendance, against the 20 hours that Zinédine should normally do per week in class, his parents would have to pay 1000 euros per month.

An amount they don't have.

“It's true that they are very good.

Since childhood, my son has obsessed with toothbrushes.

I tried everything to stop him from always holding one in his hand.

In six sessions, their psychologist managed to make him break this habit.

This is proof that my son can evolve, you just have to know how to supervise him.

But it's too expensive for us, my husband earns the minimum wage and we have another child to raise.

Come to support the family on Monday, the mayor of Fleury calls on National Education to take up its responsibilities.

“The municipality is able to accommodate him on extra-curricular time.

But we are told that he cannot be educated, while it is compulsory, underlines Olivier Corzani (PCF), dubious.

Everyone passes the buck, and in the end it's the child who stays out of it all.

"He did not choose to be autistic, he has the same rights as his comrades"

When contacted, the services of the National Education of Essonne ensure that they are working actively to "find the best solution adapted to Zinédine".

An education monitoring study, which brings together parents, teacher and referring doctor, has been set up to ensure that the student receives the special support he needs in his school career.

“The family will be received this Tuesday by the inspector”, also informs the National Education.

A meeting that relatives hope will be decisive.

"Why couldn't Zinedine live like all the other children?"

begs his grandmother.

He did not choose to be autistic, he has the same rights as his comrades.
