Large gaps were recorded in the vaccination of citizens over the age of 60 in the general population, and between this age group in the Arab sector and in the ultra-Orthodox society - according to the Ministry of Health's vaccination report today (Monday).

According to the report, less than half of those aged 60 and over, who were defined as a preferred population, were vaccinated in the ultra-Orthodox and Arab localities and cities.

The report shows that despite the rapid rate of vaccinations in the "give a shoulder" operation, only 42% of those living in non-involved Arab localities, who were included in the preferred population, were vaccinated.

This is compared to 65% in the general population.

Also, only 9% under the age of 60 received the first vaccine dose in Arab localities.

Even in the uninvolved ultra-Orthodox cities, the figure is relatively low, with 48% vaccinating over the age of 60 and 5% below.

In contrast, nationwide data (including ultra-Orthodox and Arabs and other groups) have so far vaccinated 72% of those aged 60 and over, and 19% of the rest of the population.
