Secularism: "Professors have sunk into a form of cultural relativism"

INTERVIEW - For Bruno Modica, professor of history and geography in a high school in Hérault, the deficit in education and transmission in France is a problem of ignorance and complacency, on the part of teachers and students alike.


Bruno Modica, history-geography teacher at the Henri-IV high school in Béziers (Hérault), is spokesperson for the Clionautes, an association of 3,000 history teachers.

Absolutely not.

In his college, when he was confronted with this virulent father, Samuel Paty was not really supported by his colleagues.

Many are not clear on the issue of secularism and many adopt a position of evasion.

They don't talk about angry questions, or in such a superficial way that their students don't notice.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict, for example, is mistreated in the lessons because of a poor knowledge of the teachers, confronted with students full of ready-made ideas since the 1990s. Long before the internet ... Ignorance, the deficit of teacher training are worrying.
