After midnight on Sunday and a few minutes after a 72-hour marketing strike by the countryside began, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation announced
the reopening
of corn
exports
.
The decision, communicated on the official website of the national government, was possible after
"intense" negotiations
between the ministry and representatives of
the Argentine Industrial Council (CAA)
, including representatives of Maizar, CIARA CEC, and avian productions, among others. .
"Agreements were reached between the different actors in the agroindustrial chain of this raw material and the commitment of the bidders to supply the market with fluidity until the junction with the 20/21 campaign is verified. Commitment accepted by the demanding sectors of the production chains of consumer food, "the statement said.
"Considering from the National Government that the commitment was reached to guarantee the supply of corn to the different production chains, but that it still remains to resolve the conditions of accessibility to said supply not only in terms of quantity but also of prices, and attentive to the agreement of the CAA, it
is decided to temporarily
nullify
the measure
of suspension of records of DJVE de Maíz ", it indicates.
From the ministry they considered that after this agreement "it was possible to attend the diverse sectorial interests without neglecting the social ones."
On the other hand, it was announced that
a daily ceiling
will be placed
on exports to be registered of 30 thousand tons
.
"The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, through the Undersecretariat of Markets, will carry out a monitoring in order to guarantee the availability for the internal demand of corn for the 19/20 campaign. To this end, the DJVE Maíz 19/20 will not may exceed 30,000 tons per day, "it was reported.
Flint specialties and NOP organic specialties will be exempt from this limitation.
On the other hand, the Government expressed its
"concern"
about "the impact of the prices of this raw material on the different food processing chains on the table of Argentines and Argentines."
The ministry maintains that the CAA "expressed similar concern" and that a work schedule was agreed, which will begin on January 12, "in order to work on proposals to decouple international prices from domestic ones."
