Following the revelation in "Israel Today" that Gantz intends to promote illegal Palestinian construction, Smutrich demands an urgent discussion on the issue of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

"Ganz's intention to launder illegal Palestinian homes next week is contrary to Israeli principles and interests as set out in the cabinet."

This is what the chairman of the Religious Zionist Party, Bezalel Smutrich, says. In an urgent appeal to the chairman of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Zvi Hauser, Smutrich demands the committee's intervention and an urgent discussion this week, before the bleaching decision is scheduled for next Sunday.

Smutrich also writes that the move that Gantz is planning is in the hands of the Palestinians, in accordance with their orderly plan to take control of C territories in Judea and Samaria.

This is in contrast to the decision of the Political Security Cabinet from July 2019, "which established an Israeli policy for thwarting the Fayyad plan and for conducting the campaign on Sea Areas."

The decision also stated that Israel has a humanitarian responsibility for regulating the living conditions of the Arab residents in Area C, and that this responsibility will be realized solely in a way that does not harm Israeli interests.

It was also determined that construction plans for the Palestinian population, prepared by officials working for the Palestinian Authority, would not be promoted.

According to Smutrich, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has also long stated that the defense minister is not authorized to make such decisions alone, but should be discussed in the cabinet, because of their broad significance.

"In this decision, almost all the rules have been violated. Therefore, there is an urgent need to discuss the issue this week," Smutrich writes to Hauser.

Gantz's bureau has confirmed he will promote illegal Palestinian construction

As mentioned, yesterday in the office of Defense Minister Bnei Gantz approved the publication in "Israel Today", according to which illegal construction initiatives for the Palestinian sector will be promoted next week.

According to the bureau: "Defense Minister Gantz has approved a number of construction initiatives for the Palestinian sector next week within the Civil Administration's subcommittee on planning and licensing. A discussion on the deposit of a plan for a hotel in Beit Jala and a discussion on a request for the regulation of agricultural buildings on the land of Ura on Pharaoh.

Earlier yesterday, Israel Today reported that the Civil Administration's Planning and Licensing Subcommittee is expected to discuss next Sunday the promotion of the training of illegal construction plans led by the Palestinian Authority as part of the "Campaign on Area C."

These plans include illegal construction within nature reserves on which Israel has declared state lands designated for Israeli localities.

The committee will also prepare a series of illegal schools, which the Palestinian Authority defines as "schools of the struggle in the settlements."

The Yesha Council stated: "The Minister of Defense and the Prime Minister want to prepare for an illegal Palestinian takeover of Area C in violation of the political agreements, and are removing from the agenda a series of Israeli settlements that have been coordinated on state land.

"It turns out that the Civil Administration has manpower and budgets to approve a Palestinian takeover of Area C, but the budget runs out when national Zionist policy needs to be promoted by way of regulating young settlement."

"This is severe and sometimes life-threatening discrimination, by normative citizens who are equal in debt to the state but not equal in rights. The prime minister and defense minister. This is a time of trial.

However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier announced the approval of construction plans for 800 new homes in settlement in Judea and Samaria.
