A touch of hope ... an educational and entertainment project for the children of the Orthodox orphanage in Homs

Homs-SANA The activities of the (Touch of Hope) project, which is being held by the Literary League Association supervising the orphanage, was launched today.

The activities of the "Touch of Hope" project, organized by the Literary Association Supervising the Orthodox orphanage in Homs, began today with the support of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development in the Patriarchate of Antioch and the rest of the East for the Greek Orthodox.

The project, which was held in cooperation with the High Commissioner for Refugees, targets 52 orphans who receive care and attention to orphans and aims to enhance their skills and develop their talents in drawing, music, computer and languages ​​over a period of three months.

Father Melatius Shatti, Director General of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development, indicated to SANA that the aim of the project is to support orphan children, provide them with knowledge, knowledge and develop their talents, stressing that the department will continue implementing development projects in cooperation with all efforts in society.

Engineer Samar El Sebaei, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs, pointed out the importance of establishing such projects that deal with supporting orphans from the educational and entertainment aspects and caring for the distinguished among them.

Samir Haddad, Chairman of the Literary League, explained the importance of such an educational and entertainment project that provides moral support to orphaned children by allowing them to express their inner strengths and to achieve active participation in various fields of science and arts.

Ramia Mallouhi, a volunteer drawing trainer from the Ecumenical Relations Department, indicated that in the drawing department, children are taught various techniques using different colors according to the age group of children from kindergarten to 18 years old.

A number of children in the orphanage expressed their happiness to practice their various hobbies and spend fun times with their peers and their supervisors.

The construction of the Orthodox orphanage in Old Homs dates back to 1911.
