The Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida added 593 hectares to the plan to cultivate the wheat crop in Sweida for the current season, to become 41,256 hectares.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent today, the Director of As-Suwayda Agriculture, Engineer Ayham Hamed, said that this addition is in line with the demand for planting the crop and came after expanding the cultivation plan at the beginning of the season from 34,685 hectares to 40,763 hectares.

Eng. Hamed pointed out that the cultivation process of the wheat crop continues, as the cultivated areas to date exceeded 26 thousand hectares, with an implementation rate of 65 percent compared to 12965 hectares, or 39 percent, during the same period last year.

It is noteworthy that most of the areas planted with wheat in Sweida are cultivated in Ola using rain water.
