The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Talal Al-Barazi, and the Governor of Damascus Countryside, Eng. Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, were briefed today on the work of manufacturing machines and production lines for public bakeries in the Bakery Equipment Manufacturing Unit and Al-Assad Mill in the Dweir area and Tishreen Mill in the city of Adra in the Damascus countryside.

The director of the Syrian Bakery Corporation, Ziyad Hazaa, said in a statement to reporters that the unit for the production of bakery equipment “Al-Dweir Factory” completed 21 production lines during the past year and at the beginning of this year, bringing the number of bakery lines completed to date to 271 production lines, all with national hands and expertise.

The Director General of the General Grain Corporation, Eng. Yusuf Qasim, stated that the Assad National Mill is one of the old mills in Syria and its production capacity is 115 tons per day. Some of its machines were replaced in 2009, while Tishreen mill is the largest mill in Syria, with a production capacity of 450 tons per day, indicating that there are two lines that are stopped. Within the mill, work is underway to rehabilitate them, renew the sieves and special grinding machines, in addition to developing a plan to replace the old machines.
