Demonstrators gathered in Mong Kok on Halloween last year. A male student was suspected of pushing a police officer and was accused of assaulting the police.

He denied the allegations, and the case opened in West Kowloon Court today (12th).

The police officer confessed that when he was on duty that day, he noticed an arson and wanted to go through the park to hunt him down. The defendant suddenly pushed his left upper body with both hands, and he moved a step to the right.

He admitted that he had not witnessed the defendant pushing him, but said that when he turned his head, only the defendant ran back, so he believed that the other party was the one who pushed him.

The male defendant Li Guanlin (18 years old, student) was charged with assaulting Police Constable Lung Pak-qin on October 31, 2019 in Bumrungrad at the junction of Nathan Road and Lai Chi Kok Road in Mong Kok.

Police Constable Lung Baiqin confessed that at 9 o'clock that night, he was ordered to fortify the line of Nathan Road near Arran Street to clear the roadblocks. During the period, he noticed about 100 people clamoring at Bumrungrad Point.

At nearly 10 o'clock, he saw a man arson with debris on the road on Arran Street near Lai Chi Kok Road, and pursued him.

Long said that when he ran to Bumrungrad, the crowd inside prevented him and his colleagues from entering.

When he wanted to chase the arson man through the park, the defendant suddenly pushed his left upper body with both hands, and he moved a step to the right.

He admitted that he hadn't bet that the defendant pushed him, but said that when he turned his head, only the defendant ran back, so he believed that the other party was the one who pushed him.

The police officer stated that the defendant was intercepted with the policewoman on Arran Street near Nathan Road. As the other party was struggling, the two men suppressed the defendant.

After locking the defendant's handcuffs, he found a blue mask in his left front trouser pocket, arrested the defendant on suspicion of obstructing office work, and took him back to Mong Kok Police Station.
