American Chamber of Commerce CEO Thomas Donohue harshly criticized outgoing President Donald Trump, describing his actions in relation to the Capitol riots as "totally unacceptable and never forgiven."
Reuters quoted Donohue as saying at a press conference that Trump had “undermined our institutions,” saying it was up to Vice President Mike Pence, the cabinet and Congress to decide whether to try to overthrow Trump early through the 25th amendment to the constitution or impeachment measures.
Last Wednesday, a group of Trump supporters stormed the Congress headquarters while it was holding meetings to approve the results of the presidential elections, in which Democrat Joe Biden won.
Although police units and special forces were later able to evacuate the congressional building from the storming of the lawmakers to announce their approval of the results of the vote, this unprecedented unrest led to the death of 5 people and the arrest of at least 68 others.
