Welcoming children or adolescents placed in hotels rather than in specialized homes: an adjustment variable that has become commonplace in recent years in child protection.
In a report published on Monday, the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (Igas) recommends putting an end to sustainable accommodation by hotel service providers in the department for young people who are out of placement in the Hauts-de-Seine.
This control mission of the Department's Social Assistance to Children (ASE) was entrusted to it in December 2019 by the Secretary of State for Child Protection following a tragedy.
A young 17-year-old, placed in a social hotel by the Social Assistance for Children, in Suresnes in the Hauts-de-Seine, had been killed by another, with stab wounds.

These accommodations constitute
"a major risk"
for these young people, and from the point of view of the responsibility of the president of the Hauts-de-Seine departmental council, points out the report.
