As the cold weather struck, the peak of Tai Mo Shan, the top of Hong Kong, had fallen below zero degrees Celsius several times a few days ago. Plants and lamp posts were even frosted.

Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung, which is located on a flat ground, recorded a low temperature of -0.3 degrees Celsius at 3:50 am today (January 13), and then fell to -0.4 degrees.

At about the same time, Ta Kwu Ling in the North District of the New Territories also recorded -0.1 degrees Celsius and -0.5 degrees Celsius at 6 am.

On the other hand, the frosty Tai Mo Shan still remained at about 5 degrees Celsius at the same time.

In Sha Tau Kok, the body of a car is covered with a thin layer of hoarfrost.

The observatory showed that at 6:15 in the morning, Taguling was only -0.5 degrees and the relative humidity reached 94%.

According to people familiar with meteorology, due to the clear weather, weak wind, and dry weather today, weather conditions are favorable for the phenomenon of "radiation cooling."

Because there is no cloud in the distance, there is no cloud barrier, so in the wilderness, the ground heat can quickly dissipate at night.

Therefore, the temperature difference between day and night in this area will be larger.

As for the high ground, it is warmer than the flat ground, or the cold air in the high ground starts to become thinner.

According to the Observatory's data, the highest temperature in Pak Tam Chung was 15.6 degrees at nearly 2 o'clock in the afternoon yesterday, while it fell below zero in the early hours of this morning.

Because the terrain is different from that of the open space, even in areas that are quite close, the temperature can vary by several degrees at the same time.

At 3 am, Lau Fau Shan recorded 6.8 degrees, while the nearby Tin Shui Wai Wetland Park was only 3 degrees. As for Pak Tam Chung at -0.1 degrees, Sai Kung was still 7.9 degrees, a difference of 8 degrees.

A resident of Lai Tung Village, Sha Tau Kok, provided several photos to "Hong Kong 01", showing that the parking lot of the village had at least 10 private cars, taxi bodies and glass covered with white frost.

It is understood that some plants in nearby Ping Che also appeared frost.

There is a big temperature difference between day and night in Beitanyong.

At 3:20 in the morning, the observatory recorded a temperature of 11.0°C and a relative humidity of 58%.

Cold weather warning, frost warning and red fire hazard warning are effective.

The Observatory stated that the cold winter monsoon is affecting southern China.

Today's weather forecast in Hong Kong: It is fine and very dry.

It was cold in the morning, the lowest temperature in the urban area was about 10 degrees and it was a few degrees lower in the New Territories.

The highest temperature during the day is about 17 degrees.

Slow down the northeast wind.

It is expected that the temperature will rise in the next two or three days.

It turns cold again early next week.
