Jeanne Pouchain was declared dead in November 2017 following an industrial tribunal trial. For three years, she has been fighting to "find her life".

Jeanne Pouchain wants to

"regain her life"

, in the true sense of the term.

In 2017, a court decision declared her dead and turned her daily life into hell.

Alive, the fifty-something has been trying for three years to obtain compensation from the state.

A pre-trial hearing was held Monday January 11 to question the validity of this decision.

The civil procedure brought by Jeanne Pouchain's lawyer, Me Cormier, aims to highlight an "

ubuesque

"

situation

and invalidate a court decision, an act of bailiff and notary.

Since November 10, 2017, after a labor dispute during which it was taken for granted that Jeanne Pouchain had died, the 50-year-old has been considered as such by the administration.

A “

false information

” reported by a former employee of Jeanne Pouchain, boss of a cleaning company at the time, reports

Sylvain Cormier

to

Figaro

.

It's incredible, at first I didn't believe Ms. Pouchain.

I never imagined that a court would declare someone dead without verification

”.

The lawyer conducts his investigation and discovers that simple conclusions are enough to "

hold it true

".

A situation he does not understand.

I don't understand how my opponent could write that in his conclusions.

Perhaps he was manipulated by his client, but I have the feeling that the declaration of Ms. Pouchain's death was deliberate,

”confides Me Cormier.

A complaint will also be filed to bring a criminal action.

No more driver's license, no more bank account

The whole life of Jeanne Pouchain has been shaken up since she was declared dead in the eyes of the State.

Met by

BFM Lyon

, she says “

living a nightmare

”.

I died for justice, I died for organizations.

I don't go out anymore because I don't know what might happen to me if I get arrested, if I have a problem,

”she confides.

The resident of Rive-de-Gier in the Loire has lost her legal existence and the rights which result from it: she no longer has a driving license, no more bank account or even a mutual insurance company.

"

She permanently disappears from the files and must constantly renew her procedures for opening rights

", with Social Security for example, reports her advice to AFP.

Sylvain Cormier also wants to shed light on “

this snowball effect

”.

"

How, from a court decision, the administrations also ended up thinking that Ms. Pouchain was dead?

»He asks himself.

The lawyer is worried about his client.

She's a woman with a difficult past, she drooled over it when she was young.

The inertia of the system is hard on litigants.

I would just like justice to declare that it was wrong in order to right the wrongs as quickly as possible,

”declares Sylvain Cormier to

Le Figaro

.

He is afraid that justice will not be done but believes that the best judgment would be "

to resuscitate it

".

Today, Jeanne Pouchain wants the State to “

give her back her identity

”.
