(CNN Spanish) ––
An attack with a grenade in a commercial area of the city of Barranquilla, Colombia, left at least 14 people with minor injuries.
This was announced by the mayor of that city, Jaime Pumarejo.
The official affirmed that, according to preliminary investigations, those responsible for the incident were members of a criminal structure that seeks to extort money from merchants.

"It is apparently an attempt to extort this important sector of motorbike workshops with a high influx of people," said Pumarejo.
He also added that "some misfits dropped a grenade to send a message."
In that sense, Pumarejo announced that a reward equivalent to $ 5,700 (20 million Colombian pesos) has been offered for those who provide information about those who are possibly responsible for this event.
