Stefan Plate is the name of the direct candidate of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP) in the Fürstenfeldbruck-Dachau constituency for the federal election on September 26th.

Bergkirchen - In the election of candidates at the Hotel Groß in Bergkirchen, “almost socialist conditions” prevailed, according to election officer Adrian Heim, because all 14 voting members voted for the 51-year-old Groebenzeller.

The district associations of Dachau and Fürstenfeldbruck actually have around 120 members together, but "some of them canceled because they did not want to expose themselves to the risk of infection," said Heim.

Despite the socialist conditions in the hall, the newly elected aspirant from the Fürstenfeldbruck district association did not sing the international singing.

Instead, he introduced himself briefly in person and stated his goals.

The married father of a seven-year-old daughter claims to be very involved in matters of "sustainable mobility", that is, for traffic concepts in which only so much fuel is used or so many emissions are produced that the ecosystem is still able to to regenerate.

In this regard, he has already given lectures in six or seven communities in the Fürstenfeldbruck area.

"For two years I have been working with municipalities and advising mayors," said Plate, who said: "Climate-neutral transport, this is my world"!

ÖDP is the "number one climate protection party"

In order to be able to lead his fight for sustainable mobility, he has teamed up with associations such as Green City from Munich, the Munich Forum, a civic association that deals with issues of urban development, or the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) Acquired knowledge there, says Plate.

In order to be able to support his family privately, Plate has teamed up with the General German Automobile Club (ADAC), where he works as an IT specialist, which he “is almost embarrassed”, according to the Bundestag candidate.

But, he let his party comrades, who were generously distributed around the room, know that the ADAC had "recognized the change".

Plate described his ÖDP as the "number one climate protection party".

Compared to the Greens, the ÖDP is “one step ahead in all areas”.

Speaking of topics.

When Plate was asked by a party friend if he knew anything about nature conservation, he replied: “Not specifically.” But, he promised, “I'll go deeper into it”.

So far, Stefan Plate is little known in the Dachau district.

But that should change.

At the meeting, ÖDP district councilor Paul Böller spontaneously issued an “invitation to get to know each other”.

The fact that the ÖDP was able to meet in Bergkirchen at all was thanks to a special permit from the Dachau District Office.

The problem with setting up a candidate for the Bundestag is that the legislature - despite modern times - does not allow online or postal voting.

A so-called “ballot box” must take place.

A “ballot box”, better in the case of the ÖPD “cardboard election”, also took place with regard to the candidates and delegates for the assembly meeting for the Bavarian state list in March.

The members voted for Stefan Plate and Stephanie Sichelschmidt to be placed on the state list as candidates.

Ultimately, however, this is decided by the state executive.

Sichelschmidt (28) comes from the Hilgertshausen-Tandern community and is the second deputy district chairwoman in Dachau.

The following were elected as delegates: Dagmar Hamberger (district chairwoman Dachau), Stephanie Sichelschmidt, Adrian Heim (both Dachau), Gerald Morgner, Jürgen Loos and Alexa Zierl (all Fürstenfeldbruck).
