- In 2019, the Bayreuth network operator Tennet presented the first corridor

variants

for the replacement of the high-voltage line between Oberbachern in the Dachau district and Ottenhofen.

Since then, further investigations have been carried out and numerous indications from the public participation have been examined in detail.

“As a result, Tennet can now present a greatly reduced corridor network that is to be submitted for the regional planning procedure in the first quarter of 2021,” the company announced.

As part of this procedure, the government of Upper Bavaria, as the regional planning authority, decides which corridors will ultimately be assessed as spatially compatible.

This forms the basis for the following plan approval procedure.

The new construction of the extra high voltage line should run as close as possible to the existing line.

"However, in some sections there is the possibility of improving the distances to residential developments or to areas that are sensitive to nature conservation," says the press release.

The results of the experts were clear in many places, so that Tennet will no longer pursue eight of the ten section variants so far.

The reason for the delimitation of these variants was particularly often nature conservation concerns, but the protection of the living environment also played a decisive role.

Only in the Haimhausen area and between Finsing and Ottenhofen would two possible route corridors be introduced into the process.

Because of the current regulations on infection protection, Tennet employees cannot, as usual, present the new planning status in person at public information markets.

For this reason, updated information is available on the website www.tennet.eu/oba-ott.

In a video clip, section by section, the reasons for the corridor management and the layering of variants are explained in detail.

Current maps are also available for download, and the online map application with all information on public participation is available in updated form.

At the beginning of the spatial planning procedure this year, Tennet is again planning public events if these are possible in view of the corona pandemic.

In the meantime, Katharina Heep is available as a consultant for public participation on Tel. (09 21) 5 07 40-58 89 or by email at katharina.heep@tennet.eu for questions.
