This has now been confirmed by the police from Berchtesgaden.

Accordingly, a missing person report for a 43-year-old from the Berchtesgadener Land district was received by the police late on Saturday evening around 11 p.m.
His wife reported the man because he had not returned from a mountain tour on the Untersberg, the northernmost massif in the Berchtesgaden Alps.
The police were able to determine the last
location of
the missing person's
cell phone
through the wife
.
The phone was therefore in the area of the
western part of
the
Rauhenkopf
in
Bischofswiesen
.
The Berchtesgaden mountain rescue service then searched for the missing person for several hours with a total of ten people.
The 43-year-old could only be found dead.
He fell over a 50-meter-deep rock wall and sustained fatal injuries.
