The "Cuatro Hombres" in Garmisch-Partenkirchen want to create a meeting point for everyone.

That's why Hans Conrad, Franz Grasegger, Nic Nagel and Klaus Schanda set up a bar in a former workshop.

With new tenants or a different concept, things should continue after the corona lockdown.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen -

Sale, everything has to go - clues that caused a lot of confusion.

"Unfortunately, several people misunderstood that," regrets Nic Nagel.

It wasn't about the lovingly furnished and equipped bar "Cuatro Hombres", which is owned by the owner of the Nagel advertising agency, Klaus Schanda, Marketing Director of the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn, Hans Conrad, Managing Director of Sport Conrad, and Franz Grasegger, Managing Director of the Grasegger costume and fashion house , At the end of November 2019 in the former Trenkwalder garage.

Rather, the tenants who had dared to take the plunge into self-employment on Fürstenstrasse in Garmisch-Partenkirchen pulled the rip cord and sold their entire inventory.

From the coffee machine to the drinks inventory to dishes, glasses and cutlery, everything is gone.

“They were a young couple for whom Corona was very difficult,” says Grasegger.

“The whole thing grew out of hand for both of them relatively quickly.” In the months after the opening, it became clear that the concept works.

The popularity of the guests - "extremely positive".

And the first events were also extremely well received.

“We still had a lot to do,” Grasegger recalls.

Konstantin Wecker, for example, was supposed to appear in the bar as part of the Richard Strauss Festival.

Even after the lockdown last spring it was clear that the beer garden was running and that Garmisch-Partenkirchner and foreigners would be loyal to the “Cuatro Hombres”.

"But fear outweighed the tenants."

The idea for the bar originated in Madrid

The four friends reacted to their concerns - that's why the bar is called “Cuatro Hombres” - and released them from their four-year contract without any problems.

But after Conrad, Grasegger, Nagel and Schanda still believe that their idea of a meeting place works for everyone, they are now looking for new, experienced partners.

If you don't find it, you can think of another construct.

It is crucial for the four friends that after the lockdown it goes as seamlessly as possible with their restaurant.

The idea came to them in Madrid.

Then they had discovered a bar where everyone met - from garbage collectors to business men.

Quite spontaneously after work.

They wanted to establish something like this in their hometown as well.

In addition, “we always discover a wine on our travels together,” says Schanda.

"We'll bring it with us and share it with guests and friends in the 'Cuatro Hombres'."

The location is unusual.

Nic Nagel

For the restart, he and his companions plan a lot.

"We're expanding," reveals Grasegger.

“That shows that we mean business.” He does not reveal what is planned.

It is also planned to upgrade the outdoor area.

“The location is unusual,” says Nagel.

For Grasegger these are “rooms with history”.

That fits what they want to achieve.

The four love to discover new places and countries.

"And we always like to come back," emphasizes the head of the costume and fashion house.

As a result, they bring new ideas with them, some of which they put into practice on Fürstenstrasse.
