The Japanese manufacturer has published some photos of the tests of its new racing car entered in the Sarthe this year.

The official presentation will only take place on January 15, but as an appetizer, Toyota has unveiled the first images of its new Hypercar prototype which will line up this year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the more distant future against to Peugeot who is actively working on his car.

The car had its first practice session on the Paul Ricard circuit in October, away from prying eyes and from which the pictures originate.

At first glance, hidden under the stickers, the GR010 HYBRID which opens the era of Hypercars, looks quite like its predecessor, winner of the last three editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But it is actually a completely new car mechanically, especially in terms of the architecture of the hybrid system, now in a single block at the front (against two at the rear and the front with TS050), in accordance with the new regulations.

"I think and that the fans will really appreciate the car"

Toyota's new Hypercar continues its testing in Spain this week.

“I think that the fans will really appreciate the car,” said José Maria Lopez, who was lucky enough to be able to take the wheel.

"I think people are going to be surprised by this new car," added Brendon Hartley, another driver on the team who talks about "aggressive" styling.

Toyota, which is carrying out new tests this week at the Aragon circuit in Spain, will fully lift the veil on its new jewel on Friday.

“I believe the fans are really going to enjoy this car.”
