The marimba percussion instrument was a guest at the musical evening hosted by the Dar Al Thaqafa Theater in Homs for the player Ahmed Ali, with the participation of two famous players such as Marina Bohachuk on the piano, Johnny Saliba on the bass guitar, Simon Marish on the percussion and Michel Khayat on the drums.

The evening, which included 9 pieces of music that varied between Italian, Turkish, Russian and Arab styles, the marimba player Ahmed Ali Al-Majaz, from the Higher Institute of Music in the specialty of percussion, said about it during a statement by SANA's correspondent. Through this evening, which he composed from the inspiration of the old clock in Homs and bearing the title of ancient trumpet, he sought to embody the connotations and originality of the place.

Ali described the fans of Homs as a lover of art and music and a true supporter of the artist while he was on stage.

In turn, the player Simon Marish said that the evening program today was diversified in order to demonstrate the capabilities of this instrument and its ability to present all musical styles, pointing out that the instrument has a unique shape as it is a group of wooden poles that resemble a piano in shape and are played with wooden sticks.

A number of the attendees saw that the marimba instrument was able to enter the listeners' ears with all the softness and flow after the artist Ahmed Ali and the participating musicians performed the various musical pieces.
