Today, a new production line for the bakery of Khirbet al-Jawziya village was restarted after the completion of its installation in cooperation between the province of Lattakia, the branch of the Syrian Foundation for Bakeries and the Ecumenical Relations Department of the Patriarchate of Antioch and the rest of the East for the Greek Orthodox, in conjunction with extensive restoration and maintenance works carried out by the department.

The production capacity of the bakery increased through the two production lines to 18 tons per day, while the restoration work included the bakery building, maintenance and installation of metal doors, electrical panels, sanitary and ceramic works, installation of lighting devices, water heaters and paint for the ceilings and walls, an external Tyrolean workshop for the building, the implementation of corridors and the identification of parking points for citizens to achieve spacing and the distribution of pumps to sterilize the building The permanent maintenance of the bread carts of the in service production line.

The Governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khader Al-Salem indicated in a statement during the laying down of the new line in service that the expansion of service provision comes within the government's directives to facilitate and secure services for citizens in the easiest way and in their places of residence, indicating that the daily production of the bakery covers the needs of the northern region in addition to the special bakeries spread therein and can rely on the surplus from Production to support city neighborhoods.

For his part, Archendit Malatios Shehatti, Director of the Ecumenical Relations and Development Department at the Patriarchate, stated that the works in the Khirbet al-Jouzieh bakery were carried out with the support of the governorate and the facilities granted by it and in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner.

The United Nations Refugee Agency, indicating that the importance of this project stems from the fact that the bakery covers a large area in the northern Latakia countryside, and the number of direct beneficiaries reaches 30,000 people.

And he believed that it is a vital project as a result of the pressures and the economic blockade that Syria is exposed to, and it is pouring in providing facilities for the people in this region to ensure the provision of the basics of daily life.

For his part, the director of the Syrian Establishment for Bakeries Branch, Eng. Saeed Issa, indicated that installing the new line and putting it into service comes within the projects that the establishment is working on after the opening of the Al Gharaf bakery in addition to updating the two production lines in Al Haffah bakery.

He indicated that the production capacity of the bakery is estimated at 18 tons, and it contributes to meeting the demand for the material in the region and achieving a balance and stability of the loaf of bread in it through direct sales or through accredited people who hire bread to distribute in the neighboring villages and even the town of Kassab, in addition to supporting other areas where demand is severe.

He pointed out that the technical restoration works on the production line and civil works include preparing the front of the bakery, painting the production hall, maintenance of sales outlets, installing ceramics for toilets and metal doors, and detailing new bread carts.

The Khirbet Al-Jouzia bakery was exposed to a fire in mid-August of 2019, as a result of which the fire house in the bakery was damaged, as a result of which one of the bakery's production lines was rehabilitated immediately from the Syrian Foundation for Bakeries.
