The United States today recorded about 4,500 deaths from the new Corona virus within 24 hours, in a new daily record, according to data published by Johns Hopkins University.

The university's data, which is considered a reference in tracking injuries and deaths resulting from the Covid 19 pandemic, showed that the United States recorded 4,470 deaths and more than 235,000 others infected with the virus, the first time that the daily death toll from the virus in this country exceeded the threshold of 4,000 deaths.

Since the virus began to spread in the United States, the total number of people infected with it in this country has reached 22.8 million, of whom more than 380,000 have died.

During the past seven days, the United States recorded the highest weekly death rate since the pandemic began, and deaths are distributed throughout the country, although they are currently concentrated in its south and west.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has warned that stocks of COVID-19 vaccines may run out by the end of next week.

In turn, the number of Covid 19 patients in American hospitals is still at its record level, as it reached more than 131,000 patients yesterday.

The American health authorities announced that travelers wishing to travel to the United States by air will have to, from January 26, present a negative test result for Covid 19 to allow them to board the plane.

Robert Redfield, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the examination should take place three days before the date of travel at the most, indicating that if this “test does not eliminate all risks, but when it is combined with a stay at home and daily precautions such as giving birth. The muzzle and social distancing can make travel safer.
