Update from January 11, 2021:
As of today, the new, tightened
corona rules apply
throughout Bavaria.
However, just as the Bavarian cabinet decided last Wednesday, January 6, they did not come into force.
Because
Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU)
made a few changes in his government statement last Friday.
Among other things, the regulation for
contact reduction
.
In the meeting it was decided that
private meetings should
be severely restricted again.
From now on you can only meet with a maximum of one person from another household.
So far there have been up to five.
Basically nothing has changed in this rule.
There is only one exception for children up to and including three years of age.
In December, children up to the age of 14 were
exempt
from the
contact
restrictions.
For this restriction, the Prime Minister had to take severe criticism from many angry parents.
The
tightening of the rules
and the
lockdown extension
were adopted in the Bavarian state parliament by all parliamentary groups - with the exception of the AfD.
Nevertheless, the opposition representatives tore up the measures that had been decided with clear words.
The FDP parliamentary group leader Martin Hagen called above all the tightening of the
contact
restrictions "hostile to families and children" as well as "remote from everyday life".
SPD parliamentary group leader Horst Arnold does not see the
15-kilometer rule as
an effective means of further containing the pandemic.
The Alpine regions affected by day tourism would currently be below the 200 incidence mark.
First report from January 6, 2021
Munich - On Tuesday (January 5th) the
federal and state governments met
again on the Corona * pandemic.
Chancellor Angela Merkel * then announced: The lockdown * will be extended and tightened until January 31.
The
Bavarian state parliament
then met
for a special session
on Wednesday
and discussed implementation for the Free State.
Then Prime Minister Markus Söder * stated that the lockdown in Bavaria would initially be extended until January 31.
Corona lockdown in Bavaria "will be extended and deepened": Söder explains new rules
"The
lockdown
will be extended and deepened in some places," said the CSU * boss at a press conference.
The
measures
apply from Monday January 11th.
In concrete terms this means:
Contact reduction:
Meetings are only permitted with a maximum of one person from another household.
Previously, up to five people were allowed.
Counties and cities with a seven-day incidence * of over 200: Tourist day trips over a
radius of 15 kilometers
from the place of residence are prohibited.
Purchases are excluded from this.
Possibility to look after children privately - but only in a regular
contact family.
Company canteens
are closed wherever work processes permit.
The delivery of take-away food and drinks is still permitted.
Consumption on site is not allowed.
Corona lockdown in Bavaria extended: schools remain closed
In addition to large parts of the
trade, the hotel industry and the catering trade,
schools will also
remain closed
in the Corona * crisis
.
Emergency care is to be set up for day-care centers, students from levels 1 to 6, special needs students and children with disabilities.
The parents' professional groups are not looked at, as Söder made clear.
The care applies to those who need it.
Distance teaching should be offered in all schools and grades.
However, the signs point to trouble. * Depending on the infection rate, a return to
face-
to-
face teaching
- staggered according to grade - is aimed for.
We play it safe with schools and daycare centers.
There are no face-to-face classes until the end of January, but neither are there any extended holidays.
We rely on distance learning plus emergency care for those who need it.
It's about education and the best possible protection for students and teachers.

Lockdown in Bavaria tightened: Landtag meets again for special session - Söder makes government statement
The state parliament will meet again for a special session on Friday.
At the beginning, Markus Söder will make a
government
statement and also justify the decisions made with their sometimes drastic consequences for the people in the Free State.
This is followed by a debate between the political groups and a vote.
The parliamentary groups can also submit their own proposals.
"With this, the parliament not only advises, but also decides on the
Corona course
in Bavaria," said Landtag President
Ilse Aigner
(CSU) in Munich.
