China condemned today the decision of Britain and Canada to ban imports from Xinjiang, renewing its call to stop interfering in its internal affairs.
Xinhua News Agency quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Li Jian as saying in a regular press briefing that the decision of London and Ottawa to ban imports from the Chinese territory of Xinjiang was "just a farce that a handful of politicians perform without facts or morals", expressing China's "firm" opposition to this decision. .
"Britain and Canada should cancel their decisions immediately and stop interfering in China's internal affairs and undermining its interests," he added, noting that no country has the right to interfere in Xinjiang's affairs.
Li Jian explained that countries including Britain have financed the slander and spread lies and rumors in an attempt to discredit China under the pretext of human rights and have cracked down on Xinjiang companies by using various measures.
The Chinese spokesman stressed that his country "will adopt all necessary measures to protect its national interests, dignity, sovereignty and security and development interests."
And press reports indicated earlier that Britain and Canada decided to ban the import of goods from the Chinese province of Xinjiang.
On the other hand, Li Jian emphasized that the US strategy of the Indian and Pacific oceans aims at "hegemony", calling on the United States to abandon the cold war mentality.
