The total death toll from the new Corona virus in Italy has exceeded eighty thousand deaths, according to what the Italian Ministry of Health announced this evening.

Italian news agency AKI quoted the ministry as saying in its latest data that 508 new deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic to 80326.

She added that 15,774 new cases of the epidemic were recorded, while the number of intensive care patients decreased after 57 of them were discharged between yesterday and today, reaching a total of 2579 patients, and 20,532 people recovered during the past 24 hours, bringing the total of those recovering to one million 673,936 cases.

In the same context, Italian researcher Maria Rita Gizmondo, Director of Clinical Microbiology, Physiology and Emergency Diagnostics at Saco Hospital in Milan, said that with the current data and capabilities, we will not be able to achieve herd immunity against the Corona epidemic in Italy until 2024.

She drew attention to the fact that there is no accurate and clear schedule of vaccination for everyone, even if it depends on the speed of production of doses.

For his part, an expert in chemical and bacteriological warfare, retired General Pierre Paolo Lonelli said that the plan to address the emergency associated with the Covid 19 epidemic is not limited to health care only.

Lonelli added, in statements to the newspaper "Fato Quotidiano" today, that the Ministry of Health has made great strides compared to 2006, and the draft new plan to address the pandemic 2021-2023 represents a great qualitative leap, but there are international directives that have not been fully implemented.

Lonelli indicated that the World Health Organization uses military terms such as operational level, tactical level and training, noting that it is a paramilitary planning linked to the Ministry of Health.

And the military expert considered that the work that needs to be done in Italy is that the draft is the starting point and we have to discuss the ethics of choosing those who are treated with scarce resources, but there is a need for a law.
