Syria strongly condemned the unjust US decision to re-include Cuba on the American list of states sponsoring terrorism, and renewed its solidarity with the leadership and people of friendly Cuba and its confidence in its ability to thwart the decision of the American regime, which has proven that it sponsors and supports terrorism in the service of its political agendas.
An official source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA today that the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemns the unjust US decision to re-include the Republic of Cuba on the American list of states sponsoring terrorism.
The source added that this US decision once again shows the US administration’s confusion in its last days and its loss of credibility after its denial and non-compliance with many international agreements and covenants, as well as decisions of previous US administrations.
The source pointed out that the American approach to imposing sanctions on countries that do not follow the American policy and defend their sovereignty and national dignity in order to subjugate them to American hegemony is doomed to failure before the will of free peoples and will only lead to an escalation of tension on the international scene.
The source concluded his statement by saying that the Syrian Arab Republic, as it renewed its full solidarity with the leadership and people of the friendly Republic of Cuba, is confident that the Cuban Revolution, which resisted the unjust American blockade for more than half a century, is able to confront and thwart the decision of the American regime, which has proven more than once that it sponsors terrorism and supports it in service. Because of his political agendas and falsely claims his concern for the interests and rights of peoples, and America must know that the time for considering some countries as back gardens for the White House has passed forever.
