Ankara-Sana
The mayor of the Turkish city of Istanbul, Akram Imamoglu, revealed a large number of corruption files in the Istanbul municipality during the administration of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) of the municipality.
The Turkish Zaman newspaper stated that Imamoglu handed over files to the Turkish regime's Interior Ministry files related to corruption practices to the mayor of Istanbul from Erdogan's party, and that the Interior Ministry sent three inspectors to receive the ruling party's corruption files, which he announced to Davutoglu earlier that he would transfer them to the judiciary, as 35 of the original files were handed over. 40 corruption files to investigators.
And the Ministry of the Interior announced that the civilian inspectors would investigate the information contained in the files to determine her fate after that.
Since Imamoglu of the opposition Republican People's Party assumed the presidency of the Istanbul municipality, investigations began in cases of corruption, in which officials of the ruling party were considered to have been involved during their administration of the municipality, and among the names of the officials involved was the Minister of Transport, Adil Krayesmiloglu, who assumed the position of Deputy Secretary General of Istanbul Municipality at that time.
Among the corruption cases, about 600 luxury official cars were illegally allocated by the Istanbul municipality to the Justice and Development Party, the presidency and some associations.
The opposition fears that the inspectors of the Ministry of the Interior will obscure or cover up evidence of corruption, as happened to the historical corruption and bribery files that surfaced in 2013 and in which ministers were implicated in the government of then Prime Minister Erdogan, who issued decisions to pardon them.
