They were found freezing cold and malnourished.
Six Afghan refugees, four of whom claim to be minors, were discovered in a truck from Romania, on a Jura motorway rest area, Lons-le-Saunier prosecutor Lionel Pascal said on Wednesday, confirming information from the daily progress.
Aged 17 to 20 years, these young Afghans were installed in this truck "with their own body", by individuals probably belonging to criminal networks, explained the prosecutor.
The drivers were exonerated.
Four of them hospitalized
Alerted by noises coming from their loading, Tuesday on a motorway rest area in Arlay, the truck drivers warned the gendarmerie.
Six stowaways in an irregular situation were discovered, "severely affected by the cold", according to Lionel Pascal.
Four of them were taken to hospital.
They think they got on the trucks in Romania, but according to the two truck drivers, it is more likely that they got on the load in Bulgaria.
