US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has declared that outgoing President Donald Trump has committed a violation unprecedented in Congressional history and that it is a threat that must be removed.
Pelosi said in a tweet on her Twitter site, "Donald Trump has committed an unprecedented violation in the history of Congress and we must act to remove this clear danger that still exists because it threatens our lives and our country."
Democrats in the US House of Representatives argue that Trump committed a particularly heinous crime against the country by instigating the attack on the Capitol in an effort to nullify the 2020 presidential election results.
Pelosi had announced, in the wake of last week's riots that resulted in five deaths, that she had spoken with staff responsible for the White House about precautionary measures to prevent Trump from carrying out hostilities and discussed with them the precautions to be taken.
Democrats are seeking to remove Donald Trump from the presidency in recent days before he officially left office, against the backdrop of his supporters storming the Capitol building last Wednesday, following statements in which he refused again to acknowledge his defeat in the elections.
