The Spanish Ministry of Health announced the registration of 38,869 new cases of Coronavirus, registering the highest daily increase since the start of the epidemic, as infections continued to spread in the wake of the Christmas holidays.
Reuters quoted the ministry as saying that 195 new deaths were recorded, noting that the cumulative number of injuries increased to 2176089, while the total number of deaths rose to 52,878.
Spain is the 10th country in the world in terms of the number of coronavirus infections with more than two million cases, as well as the 10th in terms of the death toll from the pandemic, with more than 50 thousand deaths.
