After nursing home residents and medical staff, it's now the turn of the over 80s: The vaccination center at the Asklepios Clinic in Gauting will start operations on Wednesday, January 20.
The district office reported this.
Seniors aged 80 and over who live in their own apartment will receive a letter from District Administrator Stefan Frey by the end of this week or the beginning of next week - with the information that they can register for the vaccination online, by phone or by post.
Frey recommends registering via the portal www.impfzentren.bayern.de, which is followed by appointments in a later, second step.
Everyone always receives two appointments, because the full protective effect is only achieved with the second vaccination three weeks later.
The telephone in the district office and at the BRK, operator of the vaccination center, rings almost continuously.
“We know from numerous calls and inquiries that people over 80 are very interested in the vaccination.
That's good because they are particularly at risk, ”says Frey.
But the district administrator asks for patience: "With almost 11,000 over 80-year-olds in the district, there will be waiting times when making appointments."
One thing is clear: As in the homes, the start in the vaccination center will be sluggish.
The vaccine arrives in sparse doses in the county.
375 units were announced for yesterday and 75 for Friday. But the deliveries "are steadily increasing from week to week", according to the district office.
1525 vaccinations have been administered so far.
The mobile BRK teams are not yet able to vaccinate non-mobile seniors at home - mainly because the previous vaccine has to be processed on site and is hardly transportable.
The situation is annoying for Kraillinger with postcode 82152. When registering via www.impfzentren.bayern.de, because of the same postcode with Planegg, you are automatically assigned to the district of Munich and thus to the vaccination center in Unterschleißheim.
“That is annoying and not planned, these citizens should also be vaccinated in Gauting.
The solution to the problem is currently being worked on, "says the district office's announcement.
Those wishing to be vaccinated can register online at www.impfzentren.bayern.de, by telephone on (08151) 26 02 26 02 or with a completed form for vaccination.
Appointments will then be assigned based on the availability of the vaccine.
