The Ministry of Education and the General Authority for Remote Sensing signed a memorandum of understanding to provide it with high-resolution satellite images for all governorates and the Geographical Information System (GIS) to be used in updating the school map.

The memo also aims, according to a statement of the ministry, of which SANA received a copy, to conduct the analyzes available in the "GIS" system to help take the appropriate decision in school distributions and services all over the Syrian territory.

Director of the General Authority for Remote Sensing, Dr. Abdul-Majid Al-Kafri, expressed the authority's readiness to cooperate with the Ministry of Education in various fields, particularly training human cadres and expanding cooperation in the field of remote sensing software.

In November of last year, the Ministry of Education signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian Ministry of Education in the field of additional general, vocational and supplementary secondary education, and in October of the same year it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Communications and Technology allowing students of different educational levels to access various scientific sites and scientific content. The Syrian present on the local servers for free, in order to contribute to enriching the educational process.
