Following the riots on Capitol Hill, the level of security is rising • It is estimated that the number of troops will exceed the number of soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq
Preparations for the inauguration of US President Joe Biden next week in Washington are escalating, and according to local media reports, the number of soldiers who will be in the capital during the ceremony will exceed the number of soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.

It is estimated that over ten thousand National Guard soldiers will arrive in the city by next Saturday to step up security ahead of Biden's inauguration on January 20.
For comparison, as of this writing, there are about 5,000 soldiers in the Middle East.
The increased readiness is, among other things, a result of the burglary of the Capitol building last week in which five people lost their lives and caused a major shock across the country and the world.
Just last October, the Department of Homeland Security issued a warning that far-right groups are "the most persistent and deadliest threat" in the United States.
This is just a continuation of the perception in the post-9/11 terrorist attack that internal terrorism is more dangerous than external terrorism.
